Pine Mountain Settlement School Chapel
Pine Mountain Settlement School offers beautiful accommodations for your wedding.
Our Chapel has 22 pews and will seat 200 people. Laurel House will seat 100 people in the dining hall, which has 11 round tables (56 1/2"), 3 rectangular tables (34"x67"), 1 long rectangular table (32"x106"), and 1 long rectangular table (32"x144").
Arrangements can be made for PMSS to prepare rehearsal dinners and reception foods. Please call our office or contact us for more information.

The organist must be approved well in advance of the wedding by the PMSS executive director.
Kitchen help $15.00 per hour per staff member
General assistance
General assistance includes the help of one staff member to bring food into and out of the kitchen, and to heat up food if needed.
Specialized assistance (two staff per 30 guests)
Specialized assistance for serving, cleaning dishes or other cleanup. Staffing will be based on the estimated number attending the reception.
Tableware/napkin rental fee $1.00 per person
Pew clips No charge for use
The clips are available for decorating pews. No tape, staples, tacks or nails are allowed. The cost of broken or lost clips will be deducted from the wedding damage deposit.

General rules
- No alcoholic beverages allowed on campus.
- No smoking allowed in any School buildings.
- Do not block campus roads or park on the grass.
- Park only in designated parking areas.
- No plants may be collected from Pine Mountain
Settlement School property.
Cleanup
Cleanup of the Chapel must be completed within the rental time. If you think you will need additional time beyond the rental time, you may pay an extra fee of $50 per hour for up to two extra hours for cleanup of the Chapel.
For additional time to decorate and cleanup Laurel House for reception use, you may pay a fee of $50 per hour. Whether we can grant the request for additional time will depend upon available staffing and School programs.
The Chapel and Laurel House must be left in the same condition as they were prior to the wedding and reception. All decorations must be taken from the premises. All floors must be swept and tables cleaned. Pine Mountain staff will not help with cleanup.
Damages
We hope that you will be considerate of the special facilities at the School and do nothing that will damage them in any way.
If we find damages, we will deduct the cost of repair from the deposit. If the damage exceeds the amount of the deposit, we will bill you for the additional cost.
Wedding and reception times
The wedding ceremony, reception, and decoration and cleanup time must be scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. There are no exceptions to this time period.
Deposit
A $100 security deposit is required.
The deposit must be received by PMSS within 14 days after scheduling a date. The reservation is not guaranteed if deposit is not received within 14 days after the wedding is scheduled.
The deposit is refundable after the wedding if buildings and grounds are left clean and without damage.
The deposit is non-refundable if wedding is cancelled.
Payment
We accept payment in the form of cash, credit card or personal check. Full payment is due at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding.

Rules for weddings at Pine Mountain
Chapel decorations and wedding activities
• Keep decorations simple. Use nothing that will leave a mark or scar windows, floors, doors, stonework, woodwork, or furniture. This means that no tape, staples, tacks or nails may be used. Pew clips for hanging decorations are available from the School at no extra charge. Cost for broken or lost clips will be deducted from your deposit.
• If using candles, place aluminum foil beneath the candleholder to protect any surface from dripping wax.
• No ladders may be used in decorating.
• No balloons are allowed in the Chapel or on School grounds.
• No Silly String is allowed in the Chapel, on School grounds, or in any other building.
• Use of rice to toss at the bride and groom is prohibited. Bird seed is allowed on School grounds. No bird seed may be scattered in the Chapel or other buildings.
Use of Chapel piano and organ
• Piano should be played only by the person who is going to provide music for the wedding ceremony. Treat the piano with care.
• Use of the organ requires special permission from the Settlement School's executive director. The organist must be approved by the executive director well in advance of the wedding. A $50 fee will be added to the cost of the wedding package.
Laurel House wedding receptions
• Keep decorations simple. Use nothing that will leave a mark or scar any part of the building or furniture. This means that no tape, staples, tacks or nails may be used.
• Decorating and cleanup must be completed within the allotted rental time. Please consider this when choosing a wedding package.
• Due to state health department regulations, only Pine Mountain staff are allowed to be in the Laurel House kitchen. Pine Mountain staff may be hired to bring food into and out of the kitchen. Staff may also assist in heating food if needed. A fee of $15 per hour per staff member will be added to the wedding package.
The Charlotte F. Hedges Chapel at Pine Mountain Settlement School is one of the institution's historic buildings. The Chapel, completed in 1922, has been the site of many special services and celebrations. The School makes the Chapel available for weddings as a community service. We request that you respect this national treasure and leave it in the same condition as you found it so that we may continue to offer use of this building to others. A Pine Mountain staff member will be on hand during Chapel decoration to answer questions.
Please remember that Pine Mountain is also home for some staff members. We request that you respect the privacy of residents. Do not block or park in driveways for private residences.

4) NO BALLOONS ALLOWED in Chapel.
5) NO SILLY STRING ALLOWED.
6) Do not block campus roads.
7) Do not park in the grass.
8) Use bird seed instead of rice. Do not throw seed inside the buildings.
9) NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED.
10) NO SMOKING ALLOWED IN BUILDINGS.
11) It's your responsibility to leave the facility clean. Please consider clean up time when choosing your package.
12) If additional time is needed for your reception in Laurel House, please arrange for it in advance.
13) PMSS STAFF ONLY ALLOWED IN KITCHEN- STATE REGULATIONS.
14) No one is allowed to play the organ without permission from the PMSS executive director.
15) Collecting plants from Pine Mountain campus is prohibited.
16) Your deposit is non-refundable if damage occurs or facilities left unclean. If damage exceeds the amount of deposit, you will be held responsible for the full repair cost.
