Whoever said breakfast is the most important meal of that day definitely forgot about dessert! In the fall series of South Arts, we will bake, pull, stir, boil, and candy traditional Appalachian treats, perfect for the holidays. Join us each Monday as kids will be led how to make a dessert by a visiting chef. The kids will get to taste as we go along and even take some home to share. Some of the desserts we might make include peanut butter pie, pull candy, buckeyes, peanut butter roll, peppermint bark, sugar cookies, and more!
South Arts is part of our FREE Monday Arts/JAM program. Children are invited to participate in an our South Arts workshop at 4:30, followed by a meal at 5:30. Beginning at 6 pm, we have our Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) program - children can choose from guitar, fiddle, and banjo.
Holiday Baking begins Monday, November 3rd and continues through December 8th at 4:30 pm in the Draper Building.
